It was a crisp and sunny Saturday for Steph and Bernie’s autumn wedding at Pembroke Lodge in London’s Richmond Park, which I was very pleased to see after a few Saturdays of less than ideal wedding weather. I started with Bernie and the boys for the last of their preparations and a quick good luck drink before heading to the girls at the Richmond Gate Hotel just outside the entrance to the park.
At Pembroke Lodge their ceremony was held in the light and airy Belvedere suite, with Steph being led up the aisle by one very proud dad to a nervously excited Bernie. After a charge through the confetti it was out into the September sunshine for their drinks reception. While the guests enjoyed their drinks on the terrace enjoying the view over the Thames valley Bernie’s family held a quick tea ceremony upstairs and a quick chat on the phone with Bernie’s grandmother who couldn’t it to the wedding. After a few couple portraits in the flower gardens it was time for the wedding breakfast starting with a dancing entrance by the bridal party. A fantastic sunset led into the speeches and after a quick turnaround it was time for the dancing. And a rendition of ‘You’ve lost that loving feeling’ from the boys, a tradition among Steph and Bernie’s friends.
Great weather for a great day for a great couple. Congrats Steph and Bernie!
