We spent a very enjoyable few weeks in New Zealand living out of a campervan and loved every minute of it.  It’s taken a while back in the UK to get used to staying in the same place every day !  New Zealand is an amazing country, so many variations of beautiful landscapes to photograph and a great welcome from everyone we met.  Here’s a few of my holiday snaps.

I arrived at Hengrave Hall for Jo and Jules’ wedding just before their civil ceremony and after grabbing a few shots of the final preparations it was straight into the library for the ceremony.  Shortly after the rest of their guests arrived for a blessing in the church on the grounds.

A busy day was topped off with a amazing performance from a talented belly dancer in the evening.

Andy and his new wife left by Rolls Royce to the Compleat Angler in Marlow and didn’t waste any time hopping aboard the hotel’s launch for a quick spin on the River Thames before returning for their reception.  A notable guest at the wedding was one of Lucy’s friends that couldn’t make it over from Australia but she didn’t miss out and became a virtual guest carried around on an iPad throughout the meal and speeches.

This shot is taken after they had arrived at the hotel and hopped onto the hotel launch for quick cruise on the River Thames, I think it sums up a the relaxed, fun wedding that they enjoyed.

Nicola and Ian held their 30′s themed wedding at the St Giles House Hotel in the middle of Norwich, with the boys meeting up for a few drinks beforehand and the nearby Birdcage pub.  It was the perfect day – great weather, great people, great venue and most importantly great fun.  Congrats Mr & Mrs Haste !

For the second year running I’m starting the year with a fun competition taking a look back at the weddings of 2011.

After five hours looking through the 16,000+ photos I supplied to my clients last year I’ve picked out 30 that brought back great memories from the weddings they were shot at.  Maybe not all typical ‘wedding’ images, and many don’t even feature the bride or groom but each one appealed for one reason or another.

They are numbered 1-30 below.  Please vote for your favourite image by leaving a comment with the image no. in the area at the bottom of the photos.  Feel free to comment on why you picked the shot.

Whichever couple has the most votes for the photo from their wedding by 6pm Valentines Day will receive  two framed 18×12 inch prints of their favourite images from their wedding – one for the bride, and one for the groom.  I’ll post an updated totals list for you every couple of days or so.

I started with the girls who were getting ready at the Black Lion in Long Melford and then met up with Ant at St Lawrence in Great Waldingfield.  No photos allowed during the ceremony unfortunately (sulk), and then it was on to The Swan in Lavenham for their reception.

Congrats guys and Happy New Year all.

Kelly is a wedding photographer herself and she clearly wanted every angle covered – Tom and her had met with both my wife Suzanne and I separately and decided to book us both to photograph her wedding !  I started with the boys, Suzanne with the girls and then we joined forces for the rest of the day.  If that wasn’t enough, the very amiable Lee and Dawn from Shutterbox were there to film the event.
